William Frankena has divided the above characteristics into two ethical theories namely the Action-based and Character-based Ethics and I completely agree with her point that there is no flaw in asking for happiness and pleasure for oneself and happiness for everyone under the banner of utilitarianism as the duty of the human beings is to do secure the best results for the society. My point of supporting the Frankena is also because he argues that one should not see a relationship as a course of action or virtue-driven judgments rather both people should understand that both moral virtues and ethics are essential to deal with factors like happiness and pleasure as they do not remain in life forever. Right and wrong are always based upon the moral designators and the willingness to do good or bad depends upon the agent’s character or motives.
